The manager is looking for the following qualifications
Bachelors Degree and 8 years of Production Control/ Manufacturing and/or Industrial Planning experience. Will consider ME’s or EE’s with the right kind of experience.
Demonstrated background working in a Production Environment with multiple complex products planning and running “what if” scenarios for improving production.
Demonstrated ability to gather necessary data from the production line and the product materials to make production improvements.
Demonstrative ability to run “What if” analysis on production scenarios of different products.
Ability to balance the different products that are going through production.
Needs to be proficient in MS Project.
This position is a combination of an Industrial Engineer and a Material Planner. Alternative titles include; Alternatively – Manufacturing Engineer / Planner or Production Planner. There will be a lot of “what if” scenarios juggling different operations. Ability to plan flow of mixed Engineering and Production products through numerous sequential operations accounting for operation times, resource limits, & operation throughputs. Provide clear communication of results to internal managers and engineers. Gather the data related to the product, production, schedules and what is necessary to run the product through production. These products co-exist on the same line and deals with two types of productions; Products already in production and products in development. These products share the same line but have different and unpredictable characteristics. The Production Planner needs to balance the needs of these products using “What-if” scenarios to produce the most efficient method to avoid bottlenecks in production and meet timelines on existing products already in production and meet the timelines necessary to produce developmental products. Make adjustments to the Production Software to balance the production and production methods necessary to meet quality and timeline requirements. History of meeting tight delivery schedules. This is a hybrid position between engineering and production. The products are part of countermeasure systems, essentially Infra-Red (IR) solid state detectors of all shapes and sizes. An equivalent product is the solid state eye in a digital camera.
