Full-time Network Analyst (2 openings)

at Elite Technical Services in Rosslyn, VA

  • U.S. Citizenship Required.
  • Must pass screening (financial/criminal background) and must be able to obtain a clearance – a DHS background investigation will be conducted – no specific clearance required
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, systems engineering, computer network engineering, or other related area and four years of additional work experience in lieu of a degree.
  • 2 years overall work experience with infrastructure and networks
  • Understanding of LAN/WAN Technology: Routers, Switches, Ports, Protocols
  • Understanding of server operating systems: Windows 2003, Redhat Linux, Solaris
NICE to Have
  • Industry Certifications: CCNA, MCSE or Network+
  • Experience with F5 BigIP network devices

Two (2) Openings for a Infrastructure/Network Analyst responsible for understanding the complexities of data center infrastructure and LAN/WAN technology in order to successfully assist with the 24×7 operational support of US-VISIT’s mission systems. Six Month PLUS contract projected to last till March 2014. The selected candidate will be working on a border protection program. The program has national visibility throughout the DHS and law enforcement community. The primary contractor is a recognized global management consulting, technology services and outsourcing company.
Available Shifts
Position 1: 4pm-12pm (5 days per wk – days TBD); Position 2: 11pm-9am (4 days per wk – days TBD by candidate & Director). Travel is expected be to less than 5% to Texas & Missouri **Key Responsibilities / Primary **

  • Work with both the architecture, delivery & operations teams to understand the impact of infrastructure and network (LAN/WAN) changes
  • Help determine gaps and business impact of hosting provider’s managed services and help determine mitigating plans for any identified risks
  • Assist with the creation & maintenance of data center rack diagrams, network connectivity designs, and other network/firewall related documentation
  • Assist with the integration of deployment planning activities with the Prototyping, Operations, Infrastructure Engineering teams, and other Government stakeholders
  • Document infrastructure and network requirements
  • Collect and analyze application and server network utilization within
  • Work with other stakeholders and vendors to troubleshoot production impacting events on the network, etc.
  • Understand the key performance metrics and SLAs for the IDENT system to minimize impact of the system for migration planning
