• Bachelor degree in English, Journalism or similar preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience of technical writing and editing for DOD/IC related work.
• Previous experience working with system engineers, testers, software developers, trainers, and other program personnel to gather pertinent information and format it into useable manuals.
• Experience in effectively formatting and editing technical publications to include writing, editing and illustration.
• Thorough knowledge of IC paragraph classification marking policies preferred.

Job Description
Elite Technical is a technology integration and managed service provider. Our client is seeking a Direct Hire Technical Writer with a Current TS/SCI with polygraph for its Annapolis Junction, MD offices. The Technical Writer will design and develop accurate and effective User Documentation in both paper-based and online formats. Documentation includes, but is not limited to, user guides, administrator’s guides, developer’s guides, quick start guides, concept of operations, and training guides. As a Technical Writer, you will be detailed oriented and yet able to turn work around in a short period of time.
Duties & Responsibilities
• Compose technical information into logical, readable and understandable documents for use by technical and non-technical personnel.
• Create technical supporting documentation for software applications including training aids, supporting documents and video training aids.
• Conducts research to ensure the proper use of technical terminology.
• Will create User Documentation paper based as well as HTML, CSS and wiki formats.
• Written documents includes, but is not limited to, proposals, user guides, administrator’s guides, developer’s guides, quick start guides, installation guides, concept of operations, and training guides.
• Ensures the accuracy of each publication including in-process and final reviews.
• Edit all final documentation for usability, readability, logical flow, standards, validation and technical accuracy.
• Interprets documentation standards and instructions listed in the Statement of Work and production of documents that conform to instructions.
• Maintains highest qualitative and quantitative output standards for all publications.
