UNIX Engineer (SUN Solaris)

Required Skills
• MUST be a US citizen and clearable
• Four year degree in Information Technology OR Computer Science (preferred)
• Sun Certified Solaris Associate (SCSAS) OR Sun Certified System Administrator (SCSA) preferred
• 7-10 years Information Technology experience
• 5+ yrs SUN Solaris Administration
• 3 years SUN Solaris Server Support
• High skill level with most UNIX commands and utilities.
• Proficient with most basic system administration tools and tasks.
• Demonstrated experience of the functioning of the UNIX operating system: for example understands job control, hard and soft linking, the difference between shell programs and kernel programs.
• Strong understanding of UNIX security procedures
• Strong interpersonal and team skills; able to write basic system documentation in support of team leaders

Elite Technical is a technology integration and managed service provider. We have a current opening in Washington, DC supporting a government contract. This is a direct placement full time employment opportunity with our client providing innovative information technology solutions to federal and commercial markets. Responsibilities include:
• Support technical support team, concentrating on system and infrastructure related support issues
• Respond in a timely and appropriate manner to support requests
• Assist in performing system installation and setup
• Comply with and maintain operational, configuration management and established support process and procedures.
• Maintain the existing system by analyzing, designing and implementing changes to the system so the changes meet the specified requirements.
• Perform rectification of operational and system support documentation
