Required Skills

Elite Technical is a technology integration and managed service provider. We have a current opening in Washington, DC supporting a Department of Justice contract. This is a direct placement opportunity with our client providing innovative information technology solutions to federal and commercial markets. Responsibilities include:
- Data Network Operations **
• Recommend WAN / LAN/ VPN / Firewall requirements based on industry best practices
• Recommend network capacity thresholds
• Provide capacity and performance reports on a quarterly basis
• Report performance against service level requirements
• Create and maintain all network maps and configuration documents
- Network Operations and Administration **
• Provide LAN/WAN connectivity contained in the service environment
• Develop and document network administration requirements and policies
• Develop and document procedures for administration that meet requirements and adhere to defined policies and procedures
• Perform day to day network operations and administration activities
• Manage all network devices in accordance with OJP’s policies (including security oversight and change management policies)
• Maintain and document IP addressing schemes, router configurations, routing tables, VPN configurations, etc
• Manage user accounts as needed for access and maintaining network resources (e.g. logon user-id and password maintenance)
• Maintain and provide audit information including access, general logs, application logs in accordance with OJP’s security policies and Government financial audit policies and practices (e.g., FISCAM)
• Ensure that network administration activities are coordinated through defined change management processes
- Network Monitoring **
• Develop and document requirements and policies for network monitoring and problem management
• Develop and document network monitoring and problem management procedures, including escalation thresholds, that meet requirements and adhere to defined policies
• Implement tools for monitoring network devices and traffic
• Implement measures for proactive monitoring and self-healing capabilities to limit network outages
• Monitor network per SLRs
• Identify network problems and resolve in accordance incident and problem management services, polices, procedures and SLRs
• Coordinate resolution of circuit problems with third parties, including public carriers, ISP and city/county affiliates using the network
