Job Description
You will need to ensure that there is high quality in all software development projects, enhancement or application changes in the most efficient and cost effective manner. Perform vendor management for test activities. Provide guidance and recommendations for high quality deliverables and activities. Provide quality metrics to facilitate transparency to quality and drives kaizen efforts to resolve quality issues.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Significant impact to the company because of responsibility to assure quality systems projects are installed in a timely manner, well tested, well documented, and on or under budget.
Highly visible to the business units due to support requirements to all associates on systems applications.
Effectively communicate with all associates, managerial and non-managerial.
Interact with vendors as required to resolve problems and gather current information.
Make presentations to various customers, departments or groups on various project or department-related topics.
70% Support project and application teams throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC):
Review project artifacts for quality, gaps and provide recommendations to correct any issues identified.
Provide strategic guidance for testing.
Review and approve SDLC project documents.
Compile, analyze and report quality metrics for project risk.
Identify and track quality risk action items to resolution.
Ensure testing follows approved QA Standards, templates and best practices.
Manage testing course corrections to ensure high quality and efficient testing.
Create Test Vendor request for quotes (RFQ), response evaluation sheets.
Facilitate vendor response reviews
Provide recommendations for validated test cost estimates.
Create SOW and review responses with vendors.
Manage QA Vendor SLAs and KPIs.
Manage QA Customer relationships.
20% Provide support and input to the QA CoE Strategy, process, templates and best practice:
Implement changes to the QA structure, standards, services, deliverables, roles and responsibilities and metrics based on strategy, feedback, kaizen and/or observed gaps.
Drive organizational change related to QA CoE strategy.
Manage QA Customer relationships.
Align QA standards, processes and services.
10% Provide test support, review and guidance for unplanned activities:
Perform administration activities related to resource allocation, customer surveys, performance evaluation and QA metrics.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Knowledge of Microsoft office suite including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Project and Email.
Knowledge of HP Quality Center, QTP and Loadrunner, SQL., SAP and Siebel a plus.
6 - 10 years relevant work experience preferred.
Supervisory experience a plus.
Experience with testing middle ware, web apps, mainframe a must.
Education:
BS or BA degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
Other skills:
Knowledge of software development quality assurance methodology.
Understanding of financial services industry, operations, system application software a must.
Familiarity with organized project management methodologies and processes.
SOA testing methodology knowledge a plus.
Excellent Verbal/Written communication required.
Leadership: Contingent/Contract Resource oversight varies but will not be more than 10.
This position will oversee approximately 6-10 projects for Quality. The primary interface for this position is the Contingent/contract Test Lead. Typically 1 test lead will be assigned to each project.
