Job DescriptionThe National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), the nation’s largest organization focused on serious mental health conditions, has an immediate, unpaid internship available with its Child and Adolescent Action CenterThe internship would primarily consist of working on StrengthofUs.org, NAMI’s new and growing online resource center and social networking website for young adults living with mental health conditions.The internship would include the following activities:• Participating in the social networking components of StrengthofUs, including posting blogs and discussion topics and regularly interacting with community members.• Researching and compiling new resources to post on StrengthofUs.• Helping users navigate the website and responding to user questions, comments and ideas.• Brainstorming new tip sheets to develop for the online resource center and helping develop these resources.• Promoting StrengthofUs.This exciting internship offers the opportunity to learn about the lived experience of young adults living with mental health conditions and to truly make a difference in their lives by providing resources, support, hope and most of all, strength. It offers valuable work experience and the opportunity to take initiative and have fun with an inspiring project.Social networking experience and writing skills are important.
