The Environmental Services Technician will perform all assigned tasks in a professional manner in order to reflect the highest integrity of the Environmental Services Department. Duties include:• Perform routine cleaning of patient rooms, nursing units, offices, clinical areas, waiting areas, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, and stairways in a clean neat and sanitary manner• Keep work areas neat and orderly, clean equipment and assist with other cleaning duties as assigned.• Utilizes chemicals supplies and safety equipment in accordance with established policies and procedures• Maintain good rapport and a cooperative working relationship with co-workers, staff employees and physicians• Maintain quality, performance and attendance standards• Will be assigned other duties as needed to support the mission and objectives of the Environment Services department’,’!!Bolivar Medical Center is committed to being the premier healthcare provider in the Mississippi Delta region. Experience: Prefer one (1) year of experience in institutional housekeeping. Familiarity with housekeeping supplies and equipment is required. The position requires good customer service skills. The candidate must be willing to work with minimal supervision. Requirements will include successful completion of orientation checklist and skills/credentials/competency requirements of specific unit. Skills:• Knowledge and ability to operate environmental services equipment.• Knowledge of various cleaning agents and/or chemical.• Ability to use various cleaning hand tools and supplies.• Ability to understand and effectively carry out oral and written instructions.• Ability to perform a variety of repetitive manual tasks that require agility and manual dexterity.• Ability to work with strong cleaning and disinfecting solutions.• Ability to learn routine tasks quickly and function in stressful situations• Ability to accept responsibility and accountability of assignments. Typical Physical Demands:Requires full range of motion including handling and lifting of boxes and/or equipment, manual and finger dexterity and eye hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive period of time. May require lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds. May require frequent bending, squatting and kneeling. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires ability to work under stressful conditions and/or irregular hours.
