Required Skills;
• US Citizen, and must pass a background check & drug test.
• 5-10-Years experience in painting preparation and masking on machined metal and fiberglass products.
• Performs a variety of diversified and complex painting with minimum training/supervision. Regulates spray gun and ventilates spray booth according to temperature and humidity requirement and utilizing precision dial indicators, micrometers where tolerances are measured in terms of film thickness and maintain a high quality finish.
• Experience with HVLP gravity feed and conventional air spray gun.

MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING:
• HS Diploma, or equivalent, plus 5-10 years experience
• Ability to interpretation of drawings and process sheets
• Hands-on Experience in painting.
• Eligibility to obtain government issued security clearance (Clean Background)

PREFER THE FOLLOWING:
• Ten years experience
• Experience in a manufacturing paint shop environment.

This position applies a variety of one, two, or three component, epoxy/urethane finishes to both production and prototype machine parts.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Works independently from blueprints and process sheets to develop painting processes, applications and techniques' where tolerances are measured in terms of film thickness and are difficult to meet.
• Often works rough sketches and/or technical operation team to determine and calculate experimental procedures, and ability to ensure proper mixing of paints/solvents to appropriate ratios by weight, volume and viscosity.
• Performs a variety of diversified and complex painting with minimum training/supervision.
• Maintain paint log, oven log and equipment to facilitate tracking.
• Regulates spray gun and ventilates spray booth according to temperature and humidity requirement and utilizing precision dial indicators, micrometers where tolerances are measured in terms of film thickness and maintain a high quality finish.
• Ensures proper surface masking and properly prepared substrates', prior to painting.
• Sensitivity to time schedules in order to meet production deadlines. Drying, Curing and baking times for paint finishes. Adjusts temperatures according to product information data sheet.
• Familiar; with HVLP gravity feed and conventional air spray gun.
• Determines the type of finish and color to be utilized in conformance with military specifications.
• Selects proper method, fixture and tools to complete task.
• Familiar with gloss meter range and value for selected paint specifications.
• Selected applicant must meet the eligibility requirement; fit testing for respirator, training for proper use of respirator, hearing conservation and medical approval prior to painting.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as required.
