Software Engineer (Front End)

The developer will be responsible for a portion of the system:
maintaining and enhancing existing functionality, designing and
developing new functionality, testing critical code, delivering to
production with aggressive deadlines.
Business/General Skills:
Working knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals of equity order
management (preferably in the exchange environment)
General understanding of the equity exchange workflow and customer
management
Experience evaluating assessing new technology solutions from vendors
Ability to interact with business, collect and document the requirements
University Degree in Computer Science or similar
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Technical Skills/Experience:
Must have 5 years of recent development on core Java
Must have working knowledge of JSP, JSF, JavaScript, HTML, XML, and CSS
Experience in creation of rich Java web GUI using Swing (applets) and
AJAX (preferably Rich Java Faces) is required
Experience with Rich Internet Application development (Adobe Flash as an
example) is desirable
Proficiency in creating of web-based applications for Near-real time
monitoring of financial data and status of trading platform components
Entry, search, and management of orders, trades, and other transactional
data
Working knowledge of SQL and JDBC is required. Experience with Oracle,
PL/SQL, calling stored procedures from Java, working with high DB
volumes, and performance tuning of DB access is desirable
In-depth understanding and practical knowledge of Java concurrency,
multithreading, and TCP/IP communication is required. Understanding of
FIX protocol is highly desirable
Hands-on experience in configuring and deployment of web applications
running under Tomcat on UNIX/Linux including: Configuration of
authentication and authorization methods (required)
Configuration of data sources and DB connection pools (required)
SSL (desirable)
Understanding of object-oriented programming and modern design patterns
is desirable
Experience in unit, multi-unit, regression, and automated testing is
desirable
Very strong analytical skills, very fast learner
Proficient verbal communication skills
Ability to work cooperatively in an open team environment, striving to
achieve team goals
Ability to work independently
