Retail Category Sales Analyst

The successful candidate will provide diversified administrative support for the Field Marketing Manager with a concentrated emphasis on data management and report formatting for end user business analysis.
Description: Analyze sales data for a group of 30 plus retail locations. Extract key data, analyze sales and using key sales metrics, provide reporting and recommendations to senior management on future sales opportunities.
Responsibilities:
Provide regular point of sale summary highlighting sales and forecast trends and make business recommendations. Recap weekly ad results inclusive of an ad lift analysis Assist in planogram and merchandising initiatives Use internal data to track, analyze and communicate category/brand dynamics and sales trends Identify opportunities and recommend changes to drive improvements in sales forecast accuracy, in-stock, inventory levels and product flow. Review local market trends, new item performance, and promotional opportunities.
Requirements:
BS/BA in related field with 3 years retail sales analysis, buying and/or merchandising experience. Advanced level Excel proficiency (pivot tables, automated/integrated pages and worksheets). Intermediate level Access proficiency (able to create/run database queries, summarize and utilize data). Must be completely PC proficient, able to develop his/her own oral and visual presentations, spread sheets and general correspondence Excellent analytical skills with the ability to analyze data and recommend action Strong project management skills with ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects with deadlines across multiple categories Effective com munication skills Detailed oriented and organized Proven experience using and analyzing data to make decisions and recommendations that will maximize profitability.
