Full-time Systems Administrator (HI)

at confidential in Pearl Harbor, HI

The Systems Administrator will work in a team dedicated to installing, configuring, securing, troubleshooting, managing, and documenting a complex information technology infrastructure. The Systems Administrator must be comfortable with all aspects of Linux, and Windows systems administration. The Systems Administrator must be self-driven, able to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines, and be comfortable presenting ideas to the team. The Systems Administrator must be able to manage individual tasks under minimal direction. The Systems Administrator will work with systems administration tools and troubleshooting techniques supporting Linux Server, Windows 2003 Server, MS Active Directory, and DNS. The Systems Administrator will support and troubleshoot desktop and laptop technologies to include Microsoft Office applications, TCP/IP networking, and Windows personal computer hardware and software. In addition, the Systems Administrator will install, configure, and support network hardware and software, to include servers, peripherals, network nodes, terminals, hubs, switches, routers, printer servers, and other devices as required.

Required Experience

  • 5 years Linux and Windows systems administration
*An active TS clearance with an SCI or SCI eligibility
  • Linux and Windows internals – file systems, inter process communication, system calls
  • Installation, configuration, and management of routers, switches, and firewalls
  • Computer architecture
  • TCP/IP networking
  • Databases and distributed computing systems
  • Scripting – Shell, Perl
  • Knowledge of personal computer hardware
  • Ability to document work and train junior administrators
  • Ability to adapt to unfamiliar technologies

Desired Experience

  • Supporting the intelligence community
  • Programming – Java, C, C
  • SQL databases – SQL Server, Oracle
  • Routing protocols
  • Virtualization – VMware
  • Configuration management
  • Information Assurance concepts and principles
  • Revision control
  • Familiarity with LDAP, HTTP, DNS, SSH, SMTP, FTP, NFS

Education

Bachelor’s degree in related technical discipline and 8 years of operating systems experience.
