Full-time Development IS Manager

at confidential in Boston, MA

The Manager of Development Information Technology ensures the effective operation of development information systems and databases including biographical and gift records, campaign reporting, data quality, and security and audit functions within the database. S/he is responsible for the on-going management and coordination of the department’s information-related needs, and serves as a liaison with medical center Information Systems support staff with regard to networks, hardware and software used by the Development Office. S/he also services fundraising professionals on matters and requests related to the fundraising database, web-based fundraising tools, and other applications as required.

Job Description
• Develops and maintains information technology strategies and plans, as well as annual operating plan.
• Identifies needs and priorities of development teams to ensure that information tools are effectively aligned with both the Strategic Plan and departmental business plans.
• Develops and maintains strategic relationships with Medical Center IT staff, consultants, and vendors.
• Prepares annual budgets to support all departmental IT needs.
• Ensures that all technology solutions (both internal and external) are delivered in a timely and cost effective manner.
• Identifies innovative solutions to new strategic initiatives.
• Ensures that the Executive Team is up to date and well educated on strategic technology issues by developing memos, presentations, etc.
• Implements and supports technology infrastructure.
• Selects, develops, implements and supports new systems and technologies.
• Serve as project manager for all Raisers Edge upgrades.
• Fulfills complex custom reporting requests using Crystal Reports or other tools.
• Conducts post-implementation reviews to ensure benefits are achieved.
• Performs the role of project manager on various projects including reengineering data or reporting processes.
• Continuously monitor our technology efforts to ensure up to date practices and technologies.
• Hardware, software, applications support.


Qualifications
• University Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or Business Administration; supplemented with courses in current technology.
• Ten years in Information Technology related business; with five years at the supervisory and/or project management level; also with organizations undergoing change.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously according to agreed upon schedules and budgets.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the academic medical center environment.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate organizational and technology vision to the Board, the Community, Management Team and staff.
• Demonstrated visionary leadership and creative thinking.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships between staff, management , volunteers and vendors.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain an in-depth, broad and current knowledge of technology and techniques.
• Demonstrated ability to implement positive change through complex solutions under difficult circumstances.
• Demonstrated change management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to empower staff.
• Highly developed verbal and written communications.
• Blackbaud Raisers Edge 7.85; Raisers Edge API a plus.
• Experience ideally will include Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 or higher; Programming experience in C#, ASP.NET, .NET3.0, HTML/DHTML, and Javascript; Microsoft SQL Server 2005 or higher, with Transact-SQL programming experience; MS SQL Server Reporting Services; Visual Studio Tools for Office (PIA 11.0 or higher); Business Objects Crystal Reports 11.0 or higher.
