Full-time Microsoft Engineer II - Practice Management

With limited supervision, this position serves as server engineer for assigned servers and/or projects for the installation, operation, configuration and management of Microsoft Windows based servers and devices deployed in the CHI network infrastructure.

Essential Duties:
Designs, installs, maintains, upgrades, and monitors hardware/software for the server infrastructure. Performs moves/adds/changes, as needed. Participates on projects as technical project team member. Develops and maintains policy and procedures to monitor backups and perform restores. Participates in disaster recovery planning. Develops and maintains server and device documentation and standards. Updates skills as changes occur in the hardware/software infrastructure. Provides second level technical support for Microsoft technologies. Monitors and manages performance and stability, and monitors security for operating systems, applications, and hardware. Responds to operational problems and coordinate efforts with other technical personnel. Develops and performs training related to server operational monitoring and initial trouble analysis. Clearly communicates in advance any changes which may affect operations. Will require some on-call coverage responsibilities.

Education:
Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or a related technical field required. May substitute an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience:
3 plus years experience in data network environment required. Experience in multi-domain, WAN environments preferred 5 plus years of total IT/server experience required.

License/Certification:
MCSA and MCSE certification strongly preferred. Citrix CCA or CCEA are preferred.
