Manage exceptions through the various departments to resolve conflicts.Manage the production requirement to meet order demand and schedule department production to meet that demand within cost guidelines. Lead cross functional meetings with the Department Managers and Supervisors to successfully produce demand.Manage the availability of product and coordinate with Production Planning to ensure the timely delivery of the product required to meet customer demand. Lead cross functional teams to resolve issues and develop solutions.Schedule through Transportation to prioritize the receipt delivery of inbound product to meet production scheduling requirements.Coordinate with Purchasing the production requirements to ensure sufficient materials are on hand to meet that demand.Coordinate with Customer Service the release of orders to ensure sufficient order volume to efficiently manage each department. Re-schedule departments and resolve issues in a timely manner.Coordinate with Marketing and Packaging Engineering to ensure all packaging specifications are issued and entered timely to meet production demand. Resolve issues cross functionally to prevent untimely demand interference.Coordinate with Packaging Engineering and Finance to ensure all product costing is complete on time to allow the receipt and production of new product introductions. Resolve issues cross functionally to prevent untimely demand interference.Manage the scheduling of all product shortages identified by Production Planning or the DC inventory planning group as needing repackaging and ensure 100% compliance in time to meet picking / shipping requirements. Lead cross functional teams to resolve all issues on time.Have a full understanding of all production times to assist CMG, Marketing, Sales Administration and Production Planning in calculating lead times to complete planned projects. Lead teams to identify and resolve excessive time blocks to meet shipment deadlines.Plan all new product pipe production to meet expected ship dates. Lead cross functional teams to resolve issues so the production processing and shipment occur as required by customer order dates.Coordinate with CMG, Sales Administration and Customer service product availability and order prioritization to ensure expected pipe shipments occur as needed.QualificationsMinimum Education and Experience Required:Four year degree (Engineering, Business, or Industrial Management) required. MBA a plus.5-7 years in distribution and logistics required. Additional experience in light manufacturing would be a plus. Incumbent would ideally have worked in a role leading distribution departments and/or manufacturing departments.Required skills:Strong strategic skills. Incumbent should exhibit high energy levels, excellent collaborative skills, and a positive morale building approach.Strength in the following areas is preferred:Leading edge warehouse management systems (specifically Manhattan Associates’ WM/PkMS).SAP ERP, particularly the order processing systems.
