Sales decision making:
- Create and maintain reporting and analytical tools to enable sales staff to make optimal current sales decisions and to analyze past travel periods to make better sales decision in the future.
- Use Marketing databases (Hawaiian Miles Data Mart, Planatis, Sabre Customer Data Delivery, ABTS, Hawaiian Miles, Web Analytics, QL2) to find customer purchase patterns.
- Report average fare, number segments sold, and cost of sale by channel and make recommendations regarding agency contracts, fare filing, commission, and incentives to optimize the value of the sales channel mix.
- Help sales staff to create customer segments. Help sales staff to develop high efficiency promotional opportunities that maximize customer conversion.
Data Management:
- Responsible for organization of databases to support sales, revenue management, and data marketing.
- Be responsible for accuracy of Planitas data and for development of routine and adhoc reports to support revenue management decision making.
- Able to takeover and move Planitas data to a process if Planitas fails to perform.
Support data marketing
- Support data marketing efforts by using statistical analysis techniques and tools to evaluate relevant customer segments, determine their value, and create promotional opportunities with high probability of conversion. Such techniques include but are not limited to: Recency / Frequency /Monetary analysis, and lifetime value analysis. Examples of such tools include but are not limited to: SAS, Business Objects, Crystal Reports, Microsoft SQL, Microsoft Reporting Services, Oracle, Excel, and Access.
- Point of contact for all inquiries regarding marketing databases. Provide correct subsets of data for statistical segmentation analysis for Sales and Marketing staff. Inform internal customers on meanings of and relationships of the data sources. Interrogate and understand staff business goals and objectives in order to provide and analyze relevant data subsets
Route and schedule decisions
- Support route and schedule decision making by providing analysis in coordination with Finance, Engineering, and other Marketing units.
Search for opportunities
- Analyze available data in search of opportunities to increase revenue per available seat mile and to generate ancillary revenue.
- Find new ways to use existing data and new sources of data to support marketing decision making.
- Professional development, and other related duties as assigned
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in MIS or Business Administration and 3-5 years of relevant work experience
• Knowledge of statistical analysis concepts related to marketing
• Ability to design clear and concise analytical reports, reports need to be presented in an easy to interrupt manner
• Through knowledge of database relational models and transact SQL query language
• Detail-oriented, curious mind capable of searching out, identifying and reconciling inaccurate, incomplete or conflicting data across multiple data sources
• Ability to co-ordinate with IT on relational database design, data model changes and updates, data verification, and resolution of problems regarding inaccurate or contradictory data.
• Experience with the following software: Microsoft Reporting Services, Access, Crystal Reports, Business Objects, Oracle, HTML and JavaScript
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft SQL and Transact SQL.
• Expert knowledge of Excel and at least one Business Intelligence Report Building software package
• Airline revenue management or sales experience preferred. Demonstrated high level analysis skills.
