Full-time Project Manager (Finance)

at confidential in Washington, DC

The Project Manager/Analyst will work on very high visibility special project that is time sensitive. The candidate will work closely with the Project Lead and the team in coordinating activities with various team members, tracking milestones, running weekly team meetings, reporting project status to the program committee, and also helping the team as an Analyst. Ideal candidate is expected to have strong project management skills, quantitative and analytical skills, and able to multi-task in order to make a strong contribution on this project.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Coordinate various project tasks with various team members, tracking milestones, running weekly team meetings, reporting project status to the program committee.

•Coordinate weekly status update meetings, publish minutes and ensure that the action items are properly assigned to appropriate people on the team. Follow-up on the issues, and action items to ensure closure in a timely manner.

•Periodic updates to the team, and program committee via dashboard, PowerPoint presentations, and/or any project specific documentation required by the project team.

•Work closely with business analysts and other team members to support and data analysis, charts, graphs, and trend analysis required for the project.

•Assist the Project Manager/Accounting Manager/Director on various ad hoc projects such as maintenance of project schedules

Education
Masters or other advanced degree

Area of Study
Accounting, Finance Accounting, Finance

Certifications CPA/CFA Candidacy

Minimum Experience

4-5 years of experience in finance, including use of high level analytical techniques and applications.

Specialized Knowledge & Skills

•Good understanding of GAAP Accounting and FASB standards, Knowledge of FAS 114, SOP 03-3, FAS 91 standard will be a plus.
•Strong Excel & Access skills using financial functions including but not limited to NPV, IRR, PPMT and Day/Date etc.,
•Demonstrated quantitative skills to analyze and synthesize large amounts of data to make business decisions. Experience with SQL/Oracle will be a plus
•Previous experience in consumer finance or mortgage industry would be preferred. Knowledge of industry standard prepayment models a plus.
•Knowledge of mortgage loans, securities, and other financial instruments
