Senior Quality Engineer

Reports to Quality Manager providing training and leadership to teams and individuals using Six Sigma philosophies, tools & tech. Works with Quality Manager & Focused Factory Managers in the selection Six Sigma projects and candidates. Establishes, mentors, and assists various plant teams in achieving significant improvements in customer satisfaction, improved quality, scrap, reduced variability, reduced cycle time & cost out activities. Requires strong analytical problem solving skills, statistical and people skills including being a self-motivator/starter with excellent drive. Aids in continuos improvement and maintenance of the quality management system. Leads internal quality audit teams. Strong quality systems (ISO/TS) background. Team leaders in the area of APQP/PPAP activities for new/revised product design. This position requires someone very team oriented with excellent leadership/supervisory skills who acts as a “change agent” in the organization. Actively support and strive to meet the strategic goals set by the dept., the facility, the division and Champion and lead local organizations in the adoption and use of Six Sigma Methods and Practices acting as a “change agent” within the organization. • Establish, train and lead Six Sigma Project Teams in the area of inspection reject and warranty reduction to meet plant DPPM goals. • Network within Eaton and other companies on best practices. • Serve as contributing member on various plant improvement teams. • Lead advanced product quality planning (APQP/PPAP) activities regarding new/revised product. • Work with purchasing/suppliers on the adoption of Six Sigma. • Lead quality internal audit teams. • Aids in continuos improvement and maintenance of the quality management system (ISO/TS). • Participate in cost out activity to aid in meeting dept. & plant goals. • Follow all safety rules, report all accidents or unsafe conditions to supervision immediately and wear all required personal protective equipment. • Attendance and punctuality are a critical and essential job function. • Effective communications skills, both verbal and written. • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.Job Qualifications/Educational RequirementsMINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS • A four-year college degree in Engineering is required. • Certified six-sigma black or green belt. • Certified CQE through ASQ, or certified/registered PE through a professional engineering society. • Minimum of 3 years experience in the area of manufacturing, quality, or related fieldsMINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED • Minimum of 3-5 years experience in the area of manufacturing, quality, or related fields. • Certified six-sigma black or green belt. • Certified CQE through ASQ, or certified/registered PE through a professional engineering society.
