Full-time Production Equipment Engineering Manager

at confidential in Columbus, TX

• Investigate and establish engineering best practices, design
guidelines, standard engineering process and tool kits. Implement
user-friendly repository of engineering knowledge.
• Analyze complex operational requirements, standards, customer
specifications, and other documentation to establish scope in sufficient
detail for estimating and proposing purposes.
• On an as-needed basis, provide technical expertise and assistance to
Sales, Operations, Engineers, Analysts, Drafters and Technicians.
• Prepare and/or approve reports and presentations. Review, write and
edit reports such as technical investigations, technology development plans.
• Maintain relationships with customers, contractors and industry groups
to ensure technology and product leadership.
• Advise and consult with upper management, customers and industry
representatives concerning opportunities and potential problems which
may impact on the Company's business.
• Supervise direct reports including interviewing, hiring, and training;
planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance;
measuring, rewarding and disciplining employees.
• As a key member of the Manufacturing leadership team, create and
maintain a high sense of urgency in both understanding customer needs
and meeting those needs. Maintain a high degree of credibility. Lead by
example.
• Other responsibilities assigned at the discretion of management.
Skills/Requirements
• Ability to lead Engineers, including motivating, prioritizing, and
planning to meet business objectives.
• Strong communication skills and ability to effectively interact with
internal and external customers.
• Skilled in delivering quality customer service.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret common technical and project
reports.
• Ability to effectively present information to customers and top
management.
• Ability to comprehend and apply advanced engineering principles.
• Ability to respond to common inquiries and complaints from customers.
• Ability to collect information, define problems, establish facts, draw
valid conclusions and effectively communicate same.
• Able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
