Production Supervisor
at confidential in Houston, TX
Primary Responsibilities and Assignments
Oversees the manufacture of parts and/or equipment, and develops and
implements production methods, schedules, procedures, and standards.
Manages the work activities of department personnel to achieve maximum
quality and productivity of the department
Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, and training employees
Maintains job results through coaching, counseling, and disciplining
employees
Reviews and approves production schedules to establish priorities
Analyzes reports to determine the cause of manufacturing problems and
resolves problems
Resolves personnel issues to include hiring, counseling, discipline,
pay, benefits, and termination
Develops and controls departmental budget
Coordinates production requirements with other departments
Audits processes, quality procedures, and production quantities for
compliance and correctness
Reviews new or updated production processes and/or test procedures
Interfaces with vendors, sales, and engineering personnel to resolve
equipment problems and improve quality of products
Maintains a safe and productive working environment for department personnel
Develop staff to upgrade supervisory ability and increase floor leadership
May be responsible for facility maintenance, utilities, security, and
other miscellaneous facility issues
May be responsible for inventory control to include purchases of material
Other responsibilities as needed and assigned
Skills/Requirements
Education and Certification
Desired:
Bachelor’s Degree or education in assigned trade/vocation preferred.
Specific Work Background/Experience
Required:
3 years manufacturing experience in assigned area
2 years management experience
Good computer skills
Desired:
Seven years manufacturing experience in assigned area
Production management experience
Special Requirements/Additional Comments
Required:
Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure shop environment.
Must be a teamplayer with strong communication skills.
