Maintenance Mgr

I. Basic Function
Manages the daily activities of the maintenance department, including
the Ammonia Refrigeration Units in order to keep the facility
operational, safe and secure while also managing various facility
maintenance computer and documentation systems.
II. Essential Duties
Manages all maintenance associates and oversee's the daily workload for
the department while managing labor dollars within the department.
Communicates daily with the distribution director and operations
management to discuss department focus and planning of workload in
conjunction with the priority needs of the warehouse.
Maintains the Ammonia Refrigeration Units, Material Handling Expense
(MHE), buildings, grounds, water, fire systems and utility and
distribution systems.
Controls spending of all maintenance accounts by managing against
budgets as well as the amount of revenue generated by the facility.
Manages the facility assets to the highest possible standards while
staying within the financial boundaries of the company
Manages the preventive maintenance programs of all MHE, building and
Ammonia refrigeration systems and constantly documenting all maintenance
records for all assets.
Works closely with the warehouse operations and corporate engineering
department to manage any expansion or construction project while
communicating all within the facility with the operations and warehouse
associates.
Performs staff management and administrative duties of: recruitment,
training, performance evaluation, development and disciplinary actions.
Manages staffing and budgetary requirements and sets department
performance standards. Assists with the development of operating and
capital budgets
III. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and/ or experience
6 years Facility Maintenance experience with at least 2 years in a
supervisory/ managerial role.
5 years working with Ammonia Refrigeration required.
Prior sanitation and Process Safety Management (PSM) Certification
preferred.
Thorough knowledge and past experience with industrial equipment,
building maintenance and refrigeration systems. Working knowledge and
experience with OSHA/ RMP/ EPA standards and requirements.
Strong leadership, oral and written communication and organizational
skills who is adaptable to change Proficient in MS Office (Excel and Word)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Occasionally required to stand, kneel or crouch and lift up to 10 lbs
