Perform minor maintenance duties and assist trade technicians in and
around airport facilities. Responsible for responding to and clearing
faults that occur with the baggage handling system in a timely manner,
reporting any issues that are found that could potentially lead to
additional system failures.
Position Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED
Active Driver License
1-2 years of related experience in general maintenance work
Must have knowledge of equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
Excellent communications and interpersonal skills
Additional Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 70 pounds
Ability to use hand trucks, forklifts, tugs and lift trucks
Basic Microsoft Office knowledge (Excel, Word)

Essential duties and responsibilities:
The General Maintenance will assist trade personnel and perform
maintenance duties with a professional demeanor. Responsible for
responding to trouble calls immediately after announced. Clearing any
faults and reporting errors to lead. Identify any potential issues that
are found with equipment. Identify any potential issues that are
re-occurring with the system and document them. Generate work orders for
work that needs to be performed. Follow up on work orders to assure that
work is done and status of work orders reflects the correct status.
Ensure that parts are properly being documented on the work order
. Clear bag jams in the system and maintain the equipment clean after
repairs
. Drive and operate different equipment such as golf cart, company
vehicles, forklift, etc. Perform other duties as assigned or needed.
Additional Responsibilities:
Support the Site Manager and the operation in special projects and
assignments.
Physical demands:
While performing the duties of General Maintenance, the employee is
regularly required to
lift and/or move up to 70 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by
this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral
vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. While
performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required
to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or
controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel,
crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally
required to sit.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of General Maintenance, the employee
regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The employee frequently
works in high, precarious places and is frequently exposed to heat. The
employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions and is
occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne
particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold, and vibration. The
noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
