AS400 Production Support
at Elite Technical Services in Rochester , NY
• Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience
• Strong customer service skills
• 3-4 years of AS400 Systems experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to learn quickly and work in a fast paced environment
Be familiar with the “Tools” our client uses:
• Basic AS400 Commands/Navigation
• AS400 CL – Read, Creation, maintain
• BRMS (IBM save application)
• ROBOT Scheduler (Help Systems Automation tool)
• IBM Job Scheduler (IBM Automation tool)
• RVI (Real Vision Report Tool)
• Windows Environment
• Familiar with Microsoft Office Programs as well as Open Source Productivity Tools
• DPI AS400 Application familiarity a plus
AS400 Production Support (day to day operations) responsible for the flow of production and testing activities on the corporate AS/400 systems. The position will provide daily processing schedules to operations, scheduling of system activities both manual and automated through ROBOT as well as technical support where needed to resolve trouble tickets, perform adhoc activities, etc.
This positions require excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong customer service focus, and ability to work in a team as well as independently, ability to learn on the fly, ability to follow procedures, and ability to suggest improvements to existing procedures as appropriate.
• Operations support via phone and email.
• Communicate status via email, phone, and through on-line ticket system
• Perform continuous analysis of the production systems to ensure that resources are not being adversely affected by applications, work loads, etc.
• Participate in projects by providing guidance on new or revised project scheduling.
• Perform requested backups, restores, and moves of data requested through CM or tickets.
• Perform testing requests submitted by the Testing and Development Departments to support either new projects or HEAT ticket resolution.
