Market Development Manager Job Description
The Market Development Manager’s primary function is to develop and cultivate prospective sales opportunities for the FSV Sales team. This position requires the outgoing personality and initiative to generate inbound and outbound leads, and to maintain and build awareness of FSV’s products and services with targeted prospects.
Responsibilities
The Market Development Manager performs the following specific duties: Researches, identifies, contacts and qualifies prospective sales targets that meet FSV’s criteria
Maintains FSV’s prospect data base and tracks and reports prospect activities and status
Identifies and fosters trade association memberships to support FSV’s sales objectives and strategies
Works with FSV Marketing to develop and manage programs to maintain and grow prospect interest and understanding, including newsletters, updates on important FSV initiatives and products, white papers, etc.
Works with FSV Marketing to optimize FSV’s web presence from a sales perspective
Receives all inquiries from prospective clients and business partners (via telephone, email, FSV web-links, trade shows, etc.), researches the opportunities, assigns them to appropriate Sales or Reseller personnel, and tracks and reports the status of all assigned inquiries
Coordinates trade show participation and activities with FSV Marketing
Represents FSV at trade shows and other events
Performs other duties as requested
Required Experience
2 – 3 years business experience, preferably in sales or sales administration/marketing; experience working with clients or prospective clients a plus
BA degree or equivalent experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of programs; Salesforce.com or other sales management software a plus
Excellent oral, written and analytical skills
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
